What do you do when?

What do you do when your Name is already registered as a dot com and it prevents you from building a new portfolio site? This is a dilemma I am facing right now. I am more than welcome to suggestions if any one would to offer one. Thank you.

If the domain is owned but not in use, you could offer to buy it. A webmaster can usually find out who owns it. If not, you can always go with the good old standby of "whateveryournameis"photography.com or photos.com. If you have someone great setting up your website, they can make sure folks find YOU when they search. Good luck.

There are more prefixes than just .com - but you probably have your heart set on it. I would consider exploring your name with a dash or adding your middle name.

I don't know your middle name but here are some ideas.

JM-Byrnes.com

Jeffery-Byrnes.com
